A Beacon of Philanthropy: Bringing Healthy Desks and Chairs to Children in Remote Mountainous Areas

**[Special Report]** In schools in mountainous areas of Sichuan and Fujian, a philanthropic project called "Dream Starts Afternoon Nap" is quietly changing children's afternoons. By introducing cost-effective desks and chairs for afternoon naps, children who previously had to curl up on hard benches can now enjoy the same health care as children in cities.

Initiated by the Sichuan Provincial Education Foundation and other organizations, the project's core supplier, Taizhou Qiuzhan Industry and Trade Co., Ltd., provided customized products that meet national standards to meet the actual needs of schools in mountainous areas. Before the project's implementation, over 80% of students in the recipient schools suffered from neck discomfort due to sleeping face down; after implementation, this figure dropped significantly, and student satisfaction soared. This is not just a donation of hardware, but a micro-practice of "educational equity."

These donated school desks and chairs fully consider durability and environmental friendliness. For example, they are made of PE rattan or natural wood, which is not only fatigue-resistant and easy to clean, but also has passed rigorous environmental testing. When children find comfortable support on the warm wooden chair backs, and when they are no longer bothered by afternoon aches and pains, the warmth of education is revealed in these details. This charitable model also provides a valuable reference for developing countries around the world to address the problem of inadequate school facilities.
